Lead Service Line Information

On October 23rd, 2024 The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) issued its final Lead and Copper Rule Improvements (LCRI), marking a pivotal change in the regulation of lead in drinking water. This updated rule mandates full replacement of all lead service lines across the country within 10 years, with some limited exceptions, among other significant requirements.

Over the past year you have been asked to fill out and return a survey of the water pipe in your home by October 16, 2024.  Now that the survey time is completed and reviewed by the State Drinking Water Program the City of Alcester will shortly begin sending out letters to all residents regarding the results of those surveys.  Once you receive your letter please contact the City office with any questions regarding the contents of the letter.
